ABOUT ME

Workshop Facilitator: Christine Turner a passionate photographer with a deep love for nature and the practice of mindfulness. Last year, I launched the Art in Nature Mindful Photography workshops. Here you can learn the basics of different photographic techniques, composition, and post-production. The workshop is also designed to teach people how to transcend the stressors of everyday life by connecting with the beauty of the natural world through mindful photography.

In my personal journey I have found immense comfort and clarity in photography while navigating my own life challenges.

I’ve always been a creative, am a mother to four wonderful children, and a grandmother to seven beautiful grandchildren. Throughout my life, I’ve worn many hats—raising my family as a single mother, publishing a book, and working in diverse places such as Parliament House in Hansard Reporting, the Australian Academy of Science, a Barristers Clerk, a small business owner. I've built websites and designed logos and posters as a graphic artist. I also served three years as President of the Millmerran Historical Society, where I voluntarily worked to preserve and share the rich history of my community.

My camera serves as a lifeline, my flotation device in a sea of uncertainty, helping me find peace and purpose even in the most turbulent times.
My photography career spans over a decade, during which I’ve worked as a professional photographer in various fields, including family portraits, school formals, animal photography, weddings, product photography, and real estate. I’ve studied photography with the Australian Photography Institute and photo-art with Photoshop at My Photo Artistic Life with Sebastian Michaels.
I am now shifting my focus to a new mission: to promote mindfulness and raise environmental consciousness and appreciation by capturing and sharing the stunning beauty of the natural world.
Alongside my photography, I have studied Eastern philosophies, yoga, meditation, and non-dualism with an Indian Guru, and I am a student of A Course in Miracles. These teachings inspire my work and forever guide me. I live in Millmerran, SE Queensland, but my heart also belongs to my second home in Bangalow, Northern New South Wales.
Through my workshops and photography, I hope to inspire others to find balance, peace, and connection in nature, while fostering a deeper awareness of the world around us.
